وَقُل رَّبِّ زِدْنِي عِلْمًا

"And say, 'My Lord, increase me in knowledge.'"

— Quran 20:114

خَيْرُكُمْ مَنْ تَعَلَّمَ الْقُرْآنَ وَعَلَّمَهُ

"The best among you are those who learn the Quran and teach it."

— Hadith

طَلَبُ الْعِلْمِ فَرِيضَةٌ عَلَى كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ

"Seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim."

— Hadith

مَنْ سَلَكَ طَرِيقًا يَلْتَمِسُ فِيهِ عِلْمًا سَهَّلَ اللَّهُ لَهُ بِهِ طَرِيقًا إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ

"Whoever follows a path in pursuit of knowledge, Allah will make easy for him a path to Paradise."

قُلْ هَلْ يَسْتَوِي الَّذِينَ يَعْلَمُونَ وَالَّذِينَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ

"Say, 'Are those who know equal to those who do not know?'"

— Quran 39:9

يَرْفَعِ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنكُمْ وَالَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْعِلْمَ دَرَجَاتٍ

"Allah will raise those who believe among you and those who were given knowledge, by degrees."

إِنَّمَا يَخْشَى اللَّهَ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ الْعُلَمَاءُ

"Only those fear Allah, from among His servants, who have knowledge."

— Quran 35:28

اقْرَأْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ

"Read, in the name of your Lord who created."

وَالَّذِينَ جَاهَدُوا فِينَا لَنَهْدِيَنَّهُمْ سُبُلَنَا

"And those who strive for Us - We will surely guide them to Our ways."

إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُضِيعُ أَجْرَ الْمُحْسِنِينَ

"Indeed, Allah does not allow to be lost the reward of those who do good."

الكلمةُ الحكمةُ ضالَّةُ المؤمنِ فحيثُ وجدَها فهو أحقُّ بها

"Wisdom is the lost property of the believer; wherever he finds it, he has the most right to it."

اطلبوا العلم من المهد إلى اللحد

"Seek knowledge from the cradle to the grave."

فضلُ العالمِ على العابدِ كفضلِ القمرِ ليلةَ البدرِ على سائرِ الكواكبِ

"The superiority of the scholar over the worshiper is like that of the full moon over the stars."

من يرد الله به خيراً يوفقه في الدين

"Whomever Allah intends good for, He grants him understanding of the religion."

العلمُ صيدٌ والكتابةُ قيدُهُ

"Knowledge is a prey, and writing is its shackle."

نضَّر اللهُ امرأً سمع مقالتي فوعاها فأدَّاها كما سمعها

"May Allah brighten the face of a person who hears my words, understands them, and conveys them."

العلماء ورثة الأنبياء

"So ask the people of the message if you do not know."

مَن خرجَ في طلبِ العلمِ فهو في سبيلِ اللهِ حتَّى يرجِعَ

"Whoever goes out seeking knowledge is in the path of Allah until he returns."

الناسُ معادنُ كمعادنِ الذهبِ والفضةِ خيارُهم في الجاهليةِ خيارُهم في الإسلامِ إذا فقُهوا

"People are like ores of gold and silver; the best in ignorance are the best in Islam if they gain understanding."

العلمُ قبل القول والعمل

"Knowledge precedes words and actions."

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اذْكُرُوا اللَّهَ ذِكْرًا كَثِيرًا

"O you who have believed, remember Allah with much remembrance."

— Quran 33:41

إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ إِذَا عَمِلَ أَحَدُكُمْ عَمَلًا أَنْ يُتْقِنَهُ

"Indeed, Allah loves that when one of you does a job, he performs it professionally."

وَمَن يُؤْتَ الْحِكْمَةَ فَقَدْ أُوتِيَ خَيْرًا كَثِيرًا

"And whoever has been given wisdom has certainly been given much good."

العلمُ زينٌ لأهلِهِ في الرخاءِ ومنجاةٌ لَهُم في البلاءِ

"Knowledge is an ornament for its people in prosperity and a salvation in adversity."

الدينُ النصيحةُ

"The religion is sincere advice."

إنَّما يُبْعَثُ الناسُ على نِيَّاتِهِم

"People will be resurrected according to their intentions."

ليسَ منَّا من لم يرحَم صغيرَنا ويوقِّر كبيرَنا ويعلَم لعالِمِنا حقَّهُ

"He is not one of us who does not have mercy on our young, respect our elders, and acknowledge the rights of our scholars."

خَيْرُ النَّاسِ أَنْفَعُهُمْ لِلنَّاسِ

"The best of people are those who are most beneficial to people."

وَمَن يَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللَّهِ فَهُوَ حَسْبُهُ

"And whoever relies upon Allah - then He is sufficient for him."

مَنْ يُرِدِ اللَّهُ بِهِ خَيْرًا يُفَقِّهْهُ فِي الدِّينِ

"Whomever Allah intends good for, He grants him understanding of the religion."

"The most beloved of deeds to Allah are those that are most consistent, even if they are small."

"Learn knowledge, and learn for it tranquility and dignity."
